Author, Educator and Media commentator Sharon Witt recently visited Ipswich Adventist School to speak with the Year 2-6 students about the importance of practicing ‘Resilience’ in their daily lives. Ms Witt shared that resilience is like a muscle that when used, gets stronger each time.

Students then practiced putting resilience into a real-life situation by participating in a challenge where things did not always go to plan.  It was a great example how we can change our mindset and how we can bounce back from disappointments.

Ms Witt shared from personal experience with stories and examples that captured the student’s attention and understanding. She encouraged students with the fact that they were already resilient and challenged them to practice being resilient by keeping things in perspective, to keep trying and not to give up.
