HARMONY DAY (21ST MARCH 2023)

Students were excited to wear their traditional clothes that represent their heritage or the colour orange to celebrate Harmony Day on Tuesday, 21st March.

IAS is a multi-cultural school with many different nationalities represented. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and cultivating a space where everyone belongs.

After sharing some words in another language, Mrs Goltz invited students to come up the front at Prime Time and share some words from their culture.  It was great fun to hear and learn words such as hello, goodbye, good night, apples and water. Some were easy to pronounce and some were super tricky, but we all gave it a good go.

Students also participated with crafts and activities in their classrooms to reaffirm that Harmony Day is a celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.
